At The Hat Girl, each hat is made with care and many items are handmade, custom or made in small batches. Because of this, our refund and return policy is designed to be fair to our customers while protecting the time, materials and creative work that go into each order.

Custom Orders and Personalized Items

All custom orders, personalized hats, special request designs and made-to-order items are final sale and are not eligible for return, refund or exchange.

This includes hats with custom wording, colors, patches, names, sayings, themes, design changes or any other customer-requested detail.

Custom orders may not be canceled once materials have been ordered or work has started.

Ready-to-Ship Items

Ready-to-ship items that are not customized may be eligible for return or exchange if you contact us within 7 days of delivery.

To be eligible, the item must be:

  • Unworn
  • Unused
  • In its original condition
  • Free of stains, perfume, makeup, smoke, pet hair or damage
  • Returned in its original packaging when possible

Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the item arrived damaged, defective or incorrect due to our error.

Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Items

Please inspect your order when it arrives. If your item is damaged, defective or you received the wrong item, contact us within 3 days of delivery at tthreadsllc@gmail.com.

Please include:

  • Your order number
  • Your name
  • A description of the issue
  • Clear photos of the item and packaging

If we confirm that the item was damaged, defective or incorrect due to our error, we may offer a replacement, repair, store credit or refund depending on the situation.

Handmade and One-of-a-Kind Variations

Many The Hat Girl items are handmade or customized. Small differences in color, placement, texture, distressing, patches, embellishments or hat shape may happen and are part of the handmade process.

These natural variations are not considered defects.

Sale Items and Gift Cards

Sale items, discounted items, limited release items and gift cards are final sale and are not eligible for return, refund or exchange.

Return Approval Required

Please do not send any item back without contacting us first. Returns sent without approval may be refused or sent back to you.

Once an approved return is received and inspected, we will notify you whether the return is accepted. If approved, we will issue the refund, exchange or store credit as agreed.

Refunds may take several business days to appear on your original payment method depending on your bank or credit card company.
